Sorghum Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

At the end of the summer, our CSA farmer included Sorghum Molasses in our baskets.

For some reason, at the end of the season, some CSA-ers forget to pick up their baskets – or assume that the deliveries had stopped.

So I scored some extra baskets which left me with 3 or 4 quarts of Sorghum!

Many people think that Sorghum or Sorghum Molasses is the same thing as Blackstrap Molasses or plain ol’ Molasses.

Au contraire mon fraire…

Sorghum is a more ‘whole’ food (a pure syrup that comes from a plant) than plain ol’ Molasses (which is a by-product of the sugar refining process)

So now I’m trying to use up all of this Sorghum.

Of course, the first thing that came to mind was COOKIES!
